How to Add a Map Pin

As a class, discuss Google Maps and the ability to add a place marker to a shared map. As a class the teacher or a student can add the pin to the map following the directions below.

Follow the directions below or view this YouTube video. It will be updated, specifically, with the RCAN Stories map shortly.

1. Go to the RCAN Stories Google Map
2. Click the blue Sign in button on the upper right side of the screen if you are not already signed on to a Google account.
3. Click the Edit link on the left side of the screen.
4. Click the Add marker icon
5. Type the school address in the search box.
6. Click the + Add to map link.
7. Click the Edit pencil icon
8. Change the street address to the name of the school (with proper capitalization and punctuation) then click the blue Save button.
9. If you need to remove the marker, click the Delete feature garbage can
